On the face, this is where the evidence is strongest, but not for every scar.

The scar type decides. Which one responds, and for which the home needle isn't the answer.

The photo is of my own face, from personal use. I also used a skincare routine alongside it, so I can't isolate what microneedling alone contributed. My scars became shallower, but didn't disappear, and your results may vary.

What it helps with, and what it doesn't

Rolling + boxcar scars: microneedling's territory.

Icepick scars: they don't fill in, we point you elsewhere.

Active, inflamed acne: contraindicated, don't stamp over it.

Only start if you can take sun protection seriously. Because of the fresh micro-channels, the skin is temporarily more sun-sensitive: no direct sun or tanning beds for 24 hours after treatment, and after that, daily high-factor (at least SPF 30) sunscreen, especially in the days following treatment. UV breaks down collagen and can cause discoloration, so without sun protection, UV can undo what the needling started.

Not every acne scar is the same

Rollingbest Boxcargood Icepicknot the right terrain

Rolling and boxcar scars fill in with collagen induction. The deep icepick channel doesn't.

More details

For icepick scars, TCA CROSS or a clinical procedure is more effective. If you don't know which type you have, ask for an expert opinion.

Will it scar my skin?

MANY TINY, SEPARATE healthy skin stays between them ✓ regenerates CONTINUOUS, DEEP no healthy island left ✕ scar

The needle makes many tiny, separate punctures: intact skin remains between them, and regeneration starts from there, which lets it heal without scarring. Linear, "tram-track"-like scars come from sideways movement (dragging), and the stamp rules exactly that out: one press down, one lift up, no dragging.

More details

The dermaroller inherently drags: it rotates, entering and exiting at an angle, which causes the "tram-track scar." The motorized pen is a vertical device, but it runs continuously: if you drag it across the skin instead of lifting it between two points, a linear mark can form there too. That's a user error, but an easy one to make. The manual stamp works without a motor or rotation, at a fixed 1 mm, with a single motion: there's nothing to get wrong in the movement. That's why, for home use in inexperienced hands, this is the most controllable, hardest-to-mess-up form, you're in charge the whole time. The remaining risk is excessive pressure (especially over bony areas), so don't force it in, and don't go above 1 mm.

Odds of any improvement

PMID 42281674 · meta-analysis, n=713

Microneedling made improvement ~79% more likely than chemical peeling (RR 1.79). PMID 42281674 So the comparison is against an established treatment, not against doing nothing.

More details

In the odds of significant, ≥50% improvement, though, there's no difference between the two (RR 0.97; p=0.74). Microneedling is at least as good as peeling, and more likely to give at least some improvement, but it's not a miracle cure.

The needle targets the scarred dermis, right where the collagen is missing. Wound healing fills the crater from below, it doesn't cover it over from above.

How to use it, the full protocolNeedle depth, how many sessions, what to apply afterward
Needle depth

Our device is a fixed 1.0 mm. In the literature, deeper scars are often treated at 1.5 mm, but with a clinical device. You can NOT go "deeper" by pressing harder: that only causes injury.

Frequency

Every 4–6 weeks, min. 3–6 sessions

After

Minimal formulas. No active ingredients on the day of treatment: no vitamin C, no peptides, no acids. Whatever you put on can get in through the micro-channels.

Avoid

acids for 21 days · retinol for 5–7 days (our own caution recommendation) · active acne: never

Applying serum after treatment
Aftercare: clean, simple products, the micro-channels close within 24 hours

Frequently asked questions

How many sessions do I need?

Minimum 3–6 sessions, every 4–6 weeks. No results are expected after 1–2 sessions, building collagen takes time. If there's nothing after 3, the protocol (depth, scar type) needs adjusting.

Is this the same as a clinical treatment?

Not the same. According to the evidence, microneedling is comparable to chemical peeling, laser may offer more for deeper scars.

Can I use it on active acne?

No. Stamping on active acne is forbidden, it can cause pigmentation spots and infection. Address the active acne first, and only treat the settled, scarred area.

Who it's NOT for

Keloid tendency or abnormal scarring: NEVER. If you've ever grown a keloid scar, microneedling stimulates exactly the collagen formation that's overactive in you. It's a contraindication in the instructions for use as well, and this is the group where it can do the most harm.

Severe, inflamed acne: contraindicated overall, not just on the affected spots. The needle carries the bacteria deeper and into neighboring follicles. Address the inflammation first, with a dermatologist, there's time for the scars later.

The full list of contraindications

Don't use this device if: you're under 18 · there's an open wound, abrasion, burn, or fresh scar in the area · you have active skin inflammation, eczema, psoriasis, or a fungal or bacterial infection there · you have severe acne, or a tendency to keloids / abnormal scarring · you have rosacea · you have uncontrolled diabetes · you have a blood clotting disorder or take blood thinners · you have active cancer, or are undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy · you have HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, or another serious systemic infection · you're pregnant / breastfeeding (only with medical consultation) · you're allergic to the disinfectant or to the cosmetic product you intend to use.

And never use it on the eyelids, the thin skin around the eyes, mucous membranes, lips, or body openings.

What do the studies referenced here prove, and what do they NOT prove?

Important: these studies support microneedling as a method, typically with a clinical device (roller, motorized pen, radiofrequency device), under medical supervision. No study has been done with our device, and we don't have a study of our own. We bring the mechanism home, as safely as possible: many good effects are possible, but we can't guarantee anything.

The older a scar is, the harder it is to shift: the connective tissue matures over time and becomes more stubborn. Old scars aren't hopeless either, but time isn't working for you. If you have active acne, address that first, order and patience.

Today you're in a better position than you'll be tomorrow.

I'm training to be a cosmetologist, and I found microneedling because of my own hair loss and skin problems. I want to bring this mechanism home as safely as possible, for you too. I stamp my own scalp weekly, and my face every 2–3 weeks.

What else do I need to buy?
  1. 1Medical alcohol: for disinfectionBefore stamping, the stamp needs to soak in medical alcohol. It's available at any pharmacy, not a big expense, but necessary for hygienic use. I show the process on video in the "Usage on video" section, and I also detail it in the instructions in the box.
  2. 2SPF 50 sunscreen: if you use it on your faceStamped skin is more sensitive to UV radiation, so sunscreen is required. We'll soon have both chemical and mineral sunscreen too. Until then, use your own.
Why is it single-use?
  1. 1This is a manufacturer requirementThe device is registered as single-use (EU-MDR Class I): according to the manufacturer's instructions, one treatment, one person, and after that it can't be cleaned or reused. This is a requirement.
  2. 2Every session is a clean startThis way, you start every treatment with a new device, factory-treated with an electron beam and then disinfected by you before use.
  3. 3Less guesswork at homeYou don't have to wonder how many times you've used it, how clean it stayed, or whether the needles have degraded. One treatment equals one stamp: a simpler, more consistent, more hygienic routine.
Guarantee and returns

If you change your mind, here are your options.

The parcel arrived on the third working day after my weekend order 😊 The product matches the description, using it is practically painless, afterwards there is a mild burning feeling and redness. I can report on the effect later, I trust that I have reason to hope. Before use I disinfected not only the stamp but the skin as well, with a spray made specifically for this. I found a face mask as a gift in the parcel, I am really glad about it, thank you!
Special thanks for the detailed description :)
Wishing you much success, kind regards: Edit

Very good quality product, less painful than the roller. The seller is very fair and kind, one detail was missing from my order and he handled it in a very humane way😊

What to expect?

Pain zones when microneedling the face, personal experience

Personal experience

Not pleasant, but in my own experience, clearly bearable. On the image I marked how sensitive I found each zone:

  • Green: easiest. Forehead, most of the face.
  • Yellow: noticeable, but comfortable. Around the eyebrows, nose bridge, jaw.
  • Red: more sensitive, but short-lived. Nose, under-eye area, around the mouth. Don't stamp near the eyelid or inner corner of the eye.

In my experience the scalp is less sensitive than the face. The first session feels the most unfamiliar, but based on customer feedback, most people expect it to be worse than it is.

How long does your skin stay red?
Skin before microneedling
Sunday · 21:00Before microneedling
Skin right after microneedling
Sunday · 21:15Right after
Skin the next morning, most of the redness gone
Monday · 7:30Next morning. Most of the redness is gone.

In my experience the redness on the face fades within a few hours, with little trace left by the next morning. In more sensitive zones (nose, around the mouth) it can take a bit longer. On the scalp it's less visible, mostly covered by hair, and settles faster.

Don't wear makeup the next day. Sun protection is required.

What's allowed and what isn't after stamping? →

Personal experience, not a clinical study result. Individual reactions may vary.

What shouldn't you use it for?

Don't use it on irritated, sunburned, actively inflamed, or infected skin. Not recommended for open wounds, active acne, eczema, or psoriasis-affected areas. If you take blood thinners or are under dermatological treatment, check with your doctor.

You'll find the full list of contraindications in the instructions for use that comes with every package. You can review the full risk picture here: Before you buy.

How do you know it's enough? How hard should you press?

It's not about force. Work with vertical, precise motions: straight in, straight out. Go over each area several times to cover the whole zone evenly. The device's 1 mm needle length helps you avoid going deeper than needed.

The goal is even coverage and controlled technique, not force.

When will I get it, and how do I pay?

Cash on delivery too: you pay when the package is in your hands, not in advance. Card payment is also available. Delivery 990 Ft, to a Foxpost parcel locker.

80 GOLD-PLATED STEEL NEEDLES

Needle material

80 GOLD-PLATED STEEL NEEDLES

Medical-grade 304 stainless steel, with a real gold coating, the same base material used in surgical instruments. According to independent lab tests (TÜV SÜD, SGS) and the biocompatibility tests mandatory for skin-contact medical devices (EN ISO 10993-1, -5, -10), every value for the needle came in below the limit, and it passed TÜV's heavy-metal migration test (21 metals, including nickel release). Regardless, if you have a known metal allergy, consult a doctor, known allergy is a contraindication according to the instructions for use.
