OWN EXPERIENCE

After 4 sessions
I stamp my own scalp weekly, and my face every 2–3 weeks.
How does it work?
Scroll on, I'll walk through the mechanism, the protocol, and what to expect.
?
The photos and notes below come from my own, individual use. There is no clinical study behind them. They do not represent what results others will achieve. Individual results may vary.
What is it, and how does it work?
Controlled mechanical stimulation in the upper layers of the skin.
How microneedling works on facial skin, collagen induction and change in skin texture
How microneedling works on the scalp, local response and hair follicle stimulation
Facial skin, texture and collagen
Microneedling creates tiny, controlled microchannels.
The skin may respond to these micro-injuries with a natural reaction. According to the literature, this can set off collagen induction processes, which over time may lead to a change in the texture of the skin surface.
Reference: Aust et al., Percutaneous Collagen Induction, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 2008.
Scalp, targeted stimulation
On the scalp, microneedling also works as controlled stimulation.
Several publications discuss the method as a possible addition to a hair care routine. In one study, the combination of microneedling and 5% minoxidil showed a greater change in hair count density than minoxidil treatment on its own.

Marci

I'm training to be a cosmetologist, and I found microneedling because of my own hair loss and skin problems. I want to bring this mechanism home as safely as possible, for you too. I stamp my own scalp weekly, and my face every 2–3 weeks.

  • Usage on video
    1
    Disinfection
Rinse the needle head with warm water, then disinfect it with 70% (or stronger) alcohol for at least 60–120 seconds, and let it dry completely.
    2
    Cleansing / hair wash
Wash the area you're treating with your favorite cleanser.
    3
    Stamping
Go over the desired area evenly, 4× on each part. 8-10 minutes.
    4
    Aftercare
Let your skin rest right after the treatment. We've put together the recommended and best-avoided ingredients for face and scalp separately → Tips and ingredients
Watch the usage on video too:
    Face stamping
    Scalp stamping
  • What else do I need to buy?
    1
    Medical alcohol, for disinfection
Before stamping, the stamp needs to soak in medical alcohol. It is easy to get at any pharmacy, not a big expense, but necessary for hygienic use. I show the process on video in the "Usage on video" section above, and I also detail it in the instructions for use in the box.
    2
SPF 50 sunscreen, if you use it on your face
Skin after stamping is more sensitive to UV radiation, so using sunscreen is required. We will soon carry both chemical and mineral sunscreen; until then you can use your own.
  • Why is it single-use?
    1
    Not because of lower quality
The device is registered as single-use (EU-MDR Class I): according to the manufacturer's instructions, one treatment, one person, and after that it can't be cleaned or reused. This is a requirement.
    2
Every session is a clean start
This way you can start every treatment with a new device, factory-treated with an electron beam and then disinfected by you before use.
    3
    Less guesswork at home
You don't have to wonder how many times you've used it, how clean it stayed, or whether the needles have degraded. One treatment = one stamp, a simpler, more consistent and more hygienic routine.
  • Guarantee and returns
If you change your mind, here are your options.
    30-day money-back guarantee
Try the first stamp. If, within 30 days of receiving it, you decide it's not for you after all, send an email and we'll refund the full price of the package. You don't even need to send anything back. This also applies to a subscription, for the first package.
    30-day return, offered voluntarily
You can return an unopened, undamaged dermastamp within 30 days of receiving it. We offer this beyond our legal obligation.
14-day right of withdrawal, by law
As a consumer within the EU, you can withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason, if the packaging is unopened and undamaged.
Important: the dermastamp is a skin-penetrating hygiene product. We don't accept opened packaging back, for hygiene reasons. For the money-back guarantee, though, you don't need to return anything. The exact terms are in the refund policy.

The parcel arrived on the third working day after my weekend order 😊 The product matches the description, using it is practically painless, afterwards there is a mild burning feeling and redness. I can report on the effect later, I trust that I have reason to hope. Before use I disinfected not only the stamp but the skin as well, with a spray made specifically for this. I found a face mask as a gift in the parcel, I am really glad about it, thank you!
Special thanks for the detailed description :)
Wishing you much success, kind regards: Edit

Very good quality product, less painful than the roller. The seller is very fair and kind, one detail was missing from my order and he handled it in a very humane way😊

How deep does the needle go?

On the face, the epidermis is only 0.03–0.06 mm thin, and the dermis below it is 0.76–1.97 mm. Collagen forms in the dermis, so practically every needle length reaches it. The question is how deep. Pick a depth:

Skin cross-section: the needle reaches the selected depth EPIDERMIS DERMIS HYPODERMIS 0 0,5 1,0 1,5 2,0 2,5 mm
Typical layer proportions for facial skin; the drawing shows the depth relationship, it is not a scale anatomical diagram. Needle length is not the same as actual penetration: that also depends on pressure and skin elasticity.

Needle depth mm

The upper-middle band of the dermis.

On most of the facial skin, this stays well within the dermis. This is our device: fixed 1 mm, single-use, for home.

Why isn't the at-home device deeper?

Most of the referenced studies were done with clinical devices (pen, roller, RF microneedling), typically with deeper penetration, under medical supervision. Our 1 mm at-home device is not the same, and we say so plainly. The goal: to bring the mechanism home as safely as possible, not to copy the clinical depth.

What to expect?
Answers, before you try it.
How long does your skin stay red?
In my own experience the redness on the face fades within a few hours, with little trace left by the next morning. In more sensitive zones (nose, around the mouth) it can take a bit longer. On the scalp it's less visible, mostly covered by hair, and settles even faster.
Don't wear makeup the next day. Sun protection is required.
What you can and can't do after stamping? →
Personal experience, not a clinical study result. Individual reactions may vary.
What should you NOT use it for?
Don't use it on irritated, sunburned, actively inflamed, or infected skin. Not recommended for open wounds, active acne, eczema, or psoriasis-affected areas. If you take blood thinners or are under dermatological treatment, consult your doctor.
You'll find the full list of contraindications in the instructions for use that comes with every package.
How do you know it's enough? How hard should you press?
Work with vertical, precise motions: straight in, straight out. Go over every area several times so you cover the whole zone evenly. Because of the stamp's design, the depth of the treatment is more controlled, and the device's 1 mm needle length helps you avoid going deeper than needed. What matters is even coverage and controlled technique.
The goal is even coverage and controlled technique, not pressing the device into your skin by force.
Why is it single-use?
A used needle head is no longer clean, and its unopened state can't be restored at home. The 1 treatment = 1 stamp principle means you work with a clean device every time, one that went through an e-beam hygiene step during manufacturing. That's why the 4-piece pack is practical: that's 8 weeks, one treatment every two weeks.

Who the Dermastamp is NOT for.

The most common question, and the answer: no

It can't be used on rosacea.

intact skin barrier calm vessels Normal skin the puncture heals damaged skin barrier dilated, reactive vessels Rosacea skin flare-up the same puncture, a different consequence on different skin

Rosacea skin has a compromised barrier to begin with, its vessels react over-sensitively, and here the same puncture can trigger a flare-up instead of healing.

But clinics do treat it with microneedling, why not for me?

Because that is not the same device. The microneedling studied for rosacea is radiofrequency-based or done under medical supervision, with regulated depth and energy, often alongside medication. The Dermastamp is a 1 mm, handheld, at-home device, and the clinical result cannot be transferred to it.

We also don't expect you to work out for yourself whether you are currently in a quiet phase; that is a medical question, not a customer's. That is why rosacea is a contraindication for us as a whole.

Don't use it in these cases

  • Rosacea, in any form (see above).

  • Active, inflamed acne in the treated area, the needle can carry bacteria deeper. (The scar yes, the pimple no, these are two separate things.)

  • Active skin infection, open wound, herpes lesion in the area, the puncture spreads the pathogen.

  • Eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis in the treated area, the skin barrier is already compromised.

  • Keloid tendency (if you have ever grown a keloid scar), microneedling stimulates exactly the collagen formation that is overactive here.

  • Clotting disorder or blood thinners (warfarin, heparin, clopidogrel), prolonged bleeding, bruising.

  • Uncontrolled diabetes, slowed wound healing, higher infection risk.

  • Active cancer, chemotherapy, radiation therapy · HIV, hepatitis, wound healing and the immune response are not predictable.

  • Pregnancy, there is no safety evidence for it. During breastfeeding, only after consulting a doctor.

  • Under 18, the instructions exclude it.

In these cases, ask a doctor first (3)
  • Isotretinoin (Roaccutane) taken in the past 12 months, the skin heals more slowly. Wait.

  • Recurrent cold sores, the puncture can trigger an episode; a doctor decides on prevention.

  • Darker skin type (Fitzpatrick IV–VI), not a disqualifier, but the risk of discoloration is higher and the skin closes more slowly: a more cautious, less frequent protocol.

If none of these apply to you, you're good to go. You'll find the protocol on the product page and in the box.

I'm not a doctor. If you're unsure, ask a dermatologist, and don't stamp until then.

Why is this device different?

80 GOLD-COATED STEEL NEEDLES

Needle material

80 GOLD-COATED STEEL NEEDLES

Medical-grade 304 stainless steel with a genuine gold coating, the same base material used in surgical instruments. According to independent lab tests (TÜV SÜD, SGS) and the biocompatibility tests mandatory for skin-contact medical devices (EN ISO 10993-1, -5, -10), every value for the needle came in under the limit, and it passed TÜV's heavy-metal migration test (21 metals, including nickel release). If you have a known metal allergy, consult a doctor regardless: a known allergy is a contraindication per the instructions for use.

1 treatment = 1 stamp for maximum hygiene

Needle layout

I tested every model so you don't have to

I tested dozens of microneedling devices, different needle densities, layouts, depths. The 80-needle stamp head, arranged in an even grid, gave the most even microchannels.

Electron-beam treated (e-beam)

Hygiene

Electron-beam treated (e-beam)

It undergoes electron-beam treatment during manufacturing. It is not a sterile device, disinfect it before every single use according to the instructions. It keeps its factory cleanliness until the packaging is opened.

Factory e-beam treated, single-use

*If you have a strong metal allergy, it's worth testing the stamp on a small area of skin (e.g. the inside of the forearm) with a few punctures before first use, and watching for a reaction for 48 hours.

Why dermastamp.hu exists

I was looking for a solution too, and I couldn't tell what was true.

I was looking for answers for my hair loss, my skin that wrinkles early, and my acne scars. That's why I run this site: so that every fact is in your hands, and then you can decide.

What does the evidence grade mean?

The grade describes the level of the evidence. A is where rigorous studies measured microneedling itself, C is where only the mechanism stands behind it. With the contraindications it's the same: it also says who it is not for.

Marci. I'm training to be a beautician, and for 4 years I've tested everything on my own skin before writing about it here.
